The Outstanding International Student (OIS) Award is a merit-based and one-time entrance scholarship awarded to eligible students when they will be admitted to UBC.

• The student must have a high school certificate.
• High School & University Transcript
• The student must hold the English language proficiency certificate.
• The student must meet the general country-specific entry requirement.

Eligibility Criteria For University of British Columbia Outstanding International Scholarships

• Entering directly from high school or post-secondary (university or college) or is new to UBC.
• Be an international student studying at university on a Canadian study permit (student visa). Variations to your citizenship status will affect your scholarship eligibility.
• Demonstrate excellent academic achievement and strong extracurricular activity.
• Not nominated for a Foreign Scholars award based on need-and-merit.
