The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has published the results of Candidates for the 2021 West African Senior Secondary Certificate examination.
The World Class Examination Body announced that students who sat for the examination can now check their results as from Monday 22 November, 2021.
The WAEC Board had earlier posited that the Certificates of Candidates whose results had already been process and released, was due for collection, 90 days from the day it was officially released.
According to the statement released by the Nigeria WAEC Head Office, Patrick Areghan, a total of 1,573,849 Candidates registered for the Exams from 19,425 recognized Secondary Schools across the Country.
A total of 1,560,261 Candidates sat for the 2021 WAEC Examination
From the Total number of Candidates who wrote the exams, the Results of 1,256,990 candidates had been processed and published. This accounts for 80.56% of all the Candidates.
The Results of 303,271 Candidate which represents 19.44% of the Candidates, was still under scrutiny. The Board mentioned that the results of such person had issues and were still undergoing some perusal.
1,560,261 Candidates made Credit passes and above for a Minimum of five subjects with or without English Language and Mathematics.
1,274,784 Candidates got Credit and above for a minimum of five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.
The results of 170,146 candidates were withheld for indulging in illegal practices and Examinations Malpractices.
From the total 1,560,261 candidates who sat for the examination, 784,677 were males while 775,584 were females; giving 50.29% and 49.71% respectively.
1,539 candidates with varying degrees of special needs sat for the Examination. 460 with eye defects, 582 had hearing issues, 362 were mentally challenged and 59 accounted for the physically challenged.
The WAEC Board also announced that the Result Checker PIN and Serial Number which the Candidates need to check their results online was already available in the Candidate Smart Identity Card which the students used to write the exams.
