Accion MfB which is a proven licenced Financial Institution from the Central Bank of Nigeria was established in 2006.
In May 2007, it began operations with Mr. Taiwo Joda as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer – CEO.

Mr. Taiwo Adesina Joda is the Managing Director/CEO of Accion MfB. He leads the Bank in its Mission to deliver value and the best of results to its customers, and shareholders. He is responsible for all aspects of Accion MFB’s business strategy, team and operations.
He holds a B.Sc. degree in Finance and Banking from the University of Lagos and a Master’s degree in Finance and Banking from the same university. He is an Alumnus of Said Business School, Oxford University.
Mr. Ndubuisi Pantelion Onuoha is the Ag. Chief Commercial Officer of Accion Microfinance Bank.
He joined Accion MfB in 2018 as Head, Savings, Partnerships & Value Chain Businesses where he oversaw the deposit mobilization and value chain business of the Bank.
He holds an HND in Finance & Banking, B.Sc. in Economics, MBA in Management, and M.Sc. in Corporate Governance (UK) and a Fellow of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA) and Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (FCIB).
Mr Waheed is the Group Head Operations of the Bank.
He is in charge of monitoring and ensuring that all aspects of risks in the bank are appropriately managed across all business processes and limits.
He joined Accion MfB as Head of Internal Audit until December 2017.
He immediately assumed the role of the Head of Risk and Internal Control Department until June 2019.
Mr Waheed is presently the Group Head, Operations. Waheed holds B.Sc. in Banking & Finance (OSU) and M.Sc. Finance (UNILAG).
He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, Certified Microfinance Professional (MCP) and a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors. He has attended various training and workshops home and abroad.
Mr Stephen Olalere is the Head, Risk Control & Compliance.
He oversees the Bank’s Corporate Compliance and Audit functions and ensures that his unit functions as an independent and objective body, by regularly reviewing and evaluating compliance issues/concerns within the organization.
He is very versed in bank compliance, controls, risk management and audit. He has attended several courses both locally and internationally including a programme at the prestigious Harvard Business School in the US and exposure training at BanCompartir (Fin America) in Bogota, Colombia. Stephen is a Fellow of ICAN and holds an MBA in Finance.
Mr Daniel Ofoleta heads the Information Technology department of the bank. He manages the bank’s IT infrastructure, service and resources.
Mr Daniel acquired an MBA degree from University of Lagos in 2015 and a B.Sc. in Computer Science in 2002 at University of Nigeria Nsukka, Nigeria. Further, he has attended various training & workshops in many countries such as Dubai, UAE, South Africa, UK and Nigeria also bags certifications from top technology companies.
Mr Emeka Uzowulu is the Head of Business Banking and Up Country. He spearheads the development and implementation of the Bank’s National expansion strategy and all aspects of business development in the new markets.
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, MBA in Financial Management, a Certified Microfinance Banker (MCIB), and Member Nigeria Institute of Management;
He has attended several courses both local and international, ILO/Accion Ghana, including a program at the prestigious Harvard Business School in the US. He has over 25 years’ experience in financial services delivery in both Corporate and retail banking with 11 years in Commercial banking and 15 years in Microfinance business out of which 11 years have been at Executive Management level.
