Method of Application

The GLOCAL application is handled in two parts:

Applications for entry into the program are handled by the Admissions office at the University of Glasgow. They are the ones to examine your application and reach a decision on your eligibility and entry into the program.

The Erasmus Mundus Scholarship is handled separately, by the GLOCAL Consortium partners. Applicants who have been deemed fit by the University of Glasgow’s Admissions Office to have reached the minimum requirements would be awarded a conditional or unconditional offer of entry to the program.

The applicants would again be reviewed and graded by the GLOCAL staff at the University of Glasgow and Consortium partner universities, according to an outlined criteria for selection.

The process is a very thorough one, as all applicants are scored by two academic staff members in the first round. After that, the best of the best applicants would be reviewed by all the seven GLOCAL partner institutions and discussed at a final scholarship selection meeting. This gives a ranked list, from which the Erasmus Mundus scholarships are awarded.

It is good to note that the scholarship application results are not published singly until all the official results are released on a specified date. This is contained in the selection timeline; details on how the positions are ranked are not yet obtainable.

Relatedly, the application process for both the program and the Erasmus Mundus scholarship is done as one through the University of Glasgow’s online application system. This is not done separately.

Candidates who were successfully admitted into the Programme but were not successful in securing an Erasmus Mundus Scholarship would be required to self-fund their studies, with an initial non-refundable deposit of £1000.
