CardinalStone Graduate Trainee 2021 (Junior Software Developer)

CardinalStone is looking to hire Junior Software developers to join our creative and resourceful software team. The Junior Software developer should be passionate about programming. We are looking for a driven and dedicated individual who is team player, takes ownership and constantly demonstrates initiative. You will be required to build and maintain web and mobile applications that will deliver a competitive edge to the organization.

JOB DESCRIPTION

1. Participate in the entire application lifecycle, focusing on coding and debugging

2. Write clean code to develop functional web applications

3. Troubleshoot and debug applications

4. Perform UI test to optimize performance

5. Manage cutting-edge technologies to improve legacy applications

6. Collaborate with other developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic

7. Provide support to internal teams

8. Build reusable code and libraries for future use

9. Liaise with developers, designers and system administrators to identify new features

10. Keep abreast of emerging technologies

JOB experience

1. 6 months to 1-year relevant experience in software development.

2. Software development experience in financial industry is an added advantage

3. BSc. degree in computer science or any other field

4. Familiarity with API creation and RESTful services

5. Basic experience using JavaScript libraries and frameworks such as NodeJS and/or ReactJS

6. Basic back-end programming language PHP (Slim3 and Laravel)

7. Basic knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and system design.

8. Database administration and management of a hosting environment

9. Basic understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms such as LESS and SASS

10. Familiarity with browser testing and debugging

11. Basic understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git, Bitbucket etc

12. Excellent communication skill – both technical and non-technical

13. Ability to manage diverse and unpredictable workload
